Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is affected by many different climate-related hazards, with drought, floods, landslides and storms the most prevalent. Disease outbreaks and epidemics create persistent challenges, while there are risks from volcanic activity in certain regions. The impacts of these are often compounded by people’s existing vulnerabilities, as the country suffers from challenges such as conflict, political instability and widespread poverty.  

Anticipatory action offers a way to help people at risk from forecastable hazards. Several organizations have established frameworks for different hazards in the country, including several that seek to anticipate health-related crises.
