Anticipatory Action Task Force for West and Central Africa
Overview
The Anticipatory Action Task Force for West and Central Africa (Task Force Action Anticipatoire/TFAA) aims to strengthen, harmonize and institutionalize anticipatory action across the region. Established in June 2026 and currently chaired by the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (Comité permanent inter-État de lutte contre la sécheresse dans le Sahel/CILSS), the TFAA serves as a regional platform for coordination, collaboration and knowledge-sharing among governments and partners.
Through alternating biweekly strategic and thematic meetings, and guided by its four-pillar roadmap, the TFAA supports the scaling up and strengthening of anticipatory action across West and Central Africa.
Membership
The TFAA brings together key institutions and organizations engaged in anticipatory action across West and Central Africa. Membership is voluntary, and members are expected to demonstrate interest in, experience with, or commitment to strengthening anticipatory action. The TFAA values both operational and technical expertise across a range of disciplines, while also welcoming organizations and individuals seeking to contribute to collective learning, coordination, innovation and the expansion of anticipatory action in the region.
