Sudan

Climate-related hazards affecting Sudan include droughts, floods and wildfires; rainfall is unreliable and erratic, with great variation between the northern and southern regions. It is also susceptible to disease outbreaks, earthquakes and pest infestations, while parts of the country experience harsh sandstorms, known as haboob.  

Implementing anticipatory action ahead of forecastable hazards is highly challenging, given the ongoing conflict and instability in the country. Despite this, several organizations are exploring the potential for implementing this approach in the coming years.
