Djibouti's arid, semi-desert environment exposes much of its population to cyclical droughts, with water scarcity a continual challenge for many. At other times, the country experiences intense winds and heavy rainfall. Climate change is expected to exacerbate many of these impacts through rising temperatures, increasing aridity and decreasing precipitation.
Many organizations in the country are seeking to establish anticipatory action as a way to minimize the impacts of these hazards and help at-risk people to cope.
