Hazards covered by anticipation

As the most arid country in southern Africa, Namibia is susceptible to drought, heat waves and veld fires (wildfires). At other times, floods pose a major threat; these can kill or displace people and their livestock, and destroy houses, crops and infrastructure.

Anticipatory action offers a proven way to support at-risk people ahead of these hazards and there are efforts under way to establish this approach within the country.
