Hazards covered by anticipation
Mexico has high exposure to a range of hazards. Among those that affects it people are cyclones, drought, floods, frosts, heat waves, landslides, volcanic activity and wildfires. The impacts of these are exacerbated by poverty, which especially affects rural and Indigenous populations.
Anticipatory action offers a way to mitigate the humanitarian impacts of many of these hazards. Several organizations are working to establish this approach within Mexico.
