Description

The South America Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action takes place from 2 to 3 September in Santiago, Chile, and online. It will be held under the theme 'Act early, protect better: strengthening anticipatory action in South America'. We invite you to read more details in the concept note in english or spanish for the event.

Approximately 120 representatives from the anticipatory action community of practice are expected to attend the event. Profiles considered for the event include decision-makers and high-level technical experts from the humanitarian, scientific and technical sectors, governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, community representatives and the private sector, with initiatives within the framework of anticipatory action for disasters and crises in South America.

This is the 7th regional dialogue platform in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is being organized by the Anticipation Hub and co-organized by the Chilean Red Cross, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Practical Action, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the American Red Cross and the German Red Cross.

The Anticipation Hub is an initiative of the German Red Cross, the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre and the IFRC; it is financially supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
