Community conversation #40 - New technology for anticipatory action
Event details:
Description
Technology can support and speed up the planning and delivery of anticipatory action, for example when setting and monitoring trigger thresholds, or maintaining accurate lists of who needs support ahead of a hazard. In recent years, several new technological tools have become available for practitioners.
In this community conversation, some of the organizations behind these advances will present their latest tools and explain exactly how these can support practitioners to deliver anticipatory action effectively. There will also be plenty of time for the audience to ask questions, share feedback and suggest further tools and developments that could support their work.
- GIZ’s openIMIS, a tool to manage data (e.g., about beneficiaries) and support the delivery and monitoring of anticipatory assistance
- Gates Foundation’s tools to accelerate adaptive government-to-person (G2P) payments
- HeiGIT’s Disaster Risk Composer.
Other presentations will be added shortly.
