Major hazards in Malaysia include floods, especially those during the monsoon season, and landslides. Air pollution and haze, often caused by forest fires, are another recurrent challenge.
Anticipatory action offers a way to address many of the hazards affecting people in Malaysia, with work under way to establish this approach more widely in the country.
