Hazards covered by anticipation

People in Argentina are exposed to many different hazards, depending upon their location. These include droughts, earthquakes, floods, storms, tornados, volcanic eruptions and wildfires. Floods are particularly widespread, being caused by coastal storms, heavy rains, high river flows and rapid snowmelt in the mountains.

Anticipatory action can support people ahead of many of these hazards. Efforts are under way in the country to implement this approach more widely.
