Applications open for the GSMA Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action

The GSMA Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action supports the development of mobile digital technologies that help to anticipate potential humanitarian impacts and enable effective early responses. By focusing on the important theme of anticipatory action, the GSMA Innovation Fund contribute towards minimizing the humanitarian impacts of rapid-onset crises and improves actions to prepare for these. 

Applications for the latest round of funding, which opened on 24 November 2022, will be accepted until 19 January 2023. It is open to applications from non-profit organizations including NGOs, international NGOs, humanitarian agencies and social enterprises. It is also open to for-profit organizations, limited to commercially viable start-ups, small and medium enterprises, and social enterprises, and with up to 250 employees. Successful projects will receive a grant of between 100,000-250,000 British pounds (GBP) to scale up their innovation over a 15-18 month period.

The GSMA is a member of the Risk-Informed Early Action Partnership (REAP) and supports its aim of ensuring 1 billion people are safer from disasters by 2025.
