Description

The 1st Regional Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action for West and Central Africa takes place from 28 to 30 October in Dakar, Senegal. It will be held under the theme 'Early action: towards a concerted and progressive approach'. We invite you to read more details in the concept note for the event in French or English.

The region of West and Central Africa is currently facing a combination of humanitarian crises of unprecedented complexity and frequency. The regional dialogue platform
on anticipatory action aims to bring together humanitarian actors, governments, regional institutions and communities around a common vision: a better prepared, more resilient West and Central Africa that is capable of responding to crises before they become disasters. Discussions during the platform will focus on two specific objectives:

1. Assess the challenges, achievements and opportunities for anticipatory action in West and Central Africa.
2. Formulate concrete recommendations for stakeholders working in the field of anticipatory action.
