The 2nd Eastern Africa Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action (EADP-2)

Description

The 2nd Eastern Africa Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action (EADP-2) will take place 28-30 October 2026, in Mombasa, Kenya, under the theme: "Transforming Risk into Resilience: Institutionalizing Anticipatory Action through Localisation, Multi-Stakeholder Coordination, Sustainable Financing and Evidence-Driven Policy."

The platform will focus on shifting anticipatory action from pilot initiatives to institutionalised, government-led systems supported by sustainable financing, strong partnerships, and evidence-based policy. EADP-2 will bring together governments, humanitarian and development partners, researchers, the private sector, national, regional and global institutions.

Building on the outcomes of EADP-1 and the Mombasa Declaration 2024, the dialogue platform will:

• Review regional progress and lessons on anticipatory action.
• Strengthen coordination and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
• Promote localisation and community-centred approaches.
• Advance early warning systems and evidence use.
• Explore sustainable and innovative financing mechanisms.

EADP-2 will culminate in a regional declaration outlining actionable commitments to scale and institutionalise anticipatory action across Eastern Africa.
