Description

The fourth edition of the Anticipation Hub’s flagship report tracks global progress, trends and challenges in anticipatory action in 2025. Ten years since the first pilot projects tested this approach, what does the data tell us?

The report, Anticipatory Action in 2025: A Global Overview, provides a comprehensive analysis of the global state of anticipatory action: the activations that took place, the active frameworks, and those under development. The report also tracks the most commonly used types of actions, the number of activations in fragile, conflict- and violence-affected settings, and countries’ progress with institutionalizing this approach. For the first time, the report also provides an overview of donor support for this approach, mapping where the ‘fuel’ and ‘build’ funding comes from, and where it goes.

During this community conversation, we will hear from some of the practitioners involved in implementing anticipatory action, who will share their reflections on what the data means for the current status of anticipatory action – and its implications for the future.
