Household-level effects of providing forecast-based cash in anticipation of extreme weather events: Quasi-experimental evidence from humanitarian interventions in the 2017 floods in Bangladesh

This article examines the operation and outcomes of the forecast-based financing program in the 2017 Bangladesh floods which distributed unconditional cash to 1039 households, showing the positive impacts of this action in reducing stress and anxiety as well as the the risk of household debt.
