Anticipatory Action: Annual Report 2025
FAO's review of its anticipatory action initiatives in 2025 reinforces the value of investing in anticipation. When farmers lose crops, pastoralists lose livestock or fishers lose productive assets, humanitarian needs surge. Acting early to protect these systems is among the most cost-effective investments available. This report highlights that, despite financial constraints, FAO sustained progress and upheld anticipatory action as a cornerstone of its approach to safeguarding food security during the year.
