Unpacking the Multifaceted Drivers of Displacement in Somalia and Somaliland

This learning brief examines the drivers of internal displacement across five districts in Somalia and Somaliland, Afgoye, Las’anod, Erigavo, Beledweyne, and Bardheere, and shows that displacement is not caused by a single shock but emerges through a cumulative process shaped by climate stress, insecurity, livelihood erosion, and governance failures.
