Pre-Disaster Evacuation, Is It a Risk Worth Taking?

This case study is relevant to anticipatory action as it explores the feasibility and strategic importance of pre-disaster evacuation within a community-based anticipatory framework. Drawing from the I CAN ACT project in Indonesia, it presents practical insights on applying a "no-regret policy" and outlines a dual assistance strategy in pre-disaster evacuation, communal and household-level support, to enhance disaster preparedness before impact, aligning with key anticipatory action principles.
