Anticipating impacts before disaster in Zimbabwe

Across Southern Africa, drought threatens to push people to the brink of disaster. Regionally, 68 million people are food insecure and in Zimbabwe alone, 6 million people are at risk due to the El-Nino induced drought with many relying on food handouts and cash transfers. For animals, thousands of cattle have died and millions more are at risk because of the parched waterholes. However, in the northeast of Zimbabwe where the rain falls unevenly, the dry dusty landscape tells a different story of hope.
