Financial Flows and Gaps Analysis: Disaster Risk Financing in Kenya, 2016-2022

In recent years, Kenya has experienced an increase in the severity and frequency of climate extremes. Combined with other crises, this has posed a significant challenge for disaster financing systems. This report analyses financial flows for disaster risk financing in Kenya, focusing on more anticipatory mechanisms at the earlier stages of the disaster risk management cycle, between disaster mitigation and resilience to early action and timely response.
