Event Report: Anticipating the Impacts of Fragility, Conflict and Violence

On 8 May 2026, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Refugee Council convened a Strategic Dialogue at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Nairobi, bringing together senior practitioners, donors, regional bodies and community-level actors to confront one of the most consequential gaps in the humanitarian system: the absence of anticipatory action architecture capable of mitigating the impacts of fragility, conflict and violence at the scale and complexity the current displacement crisis demands. This report summarizes the main outcomes from this meeting.
