Anticipatory action in the age of Covid-19: lessons from Cyclone Amphan in Bangladesh

In March 2020, humanitarian actors in Bangladesh faced a dilemma: how should they protect people during the approaching cyclone season, while in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic? This briefing draws on these experiences of acting ahead of Cyclone Amphan in Bangladesh, exploring how early actions and forecast-based financing was able to proceed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
