Description

Uganda's second National Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action will take place from 22 to 23 May 2024 under the theme ‘Navigating uncertainty: disaster and climate-risk financing’.

This year, the overall purpose is to foster collaboration, dialogue and strategic planning among key stakeholders to enhance the country’s capacity to mitigate the impacts of climate hazards through proactive measures. The dialogue platform seeks to build upon the lessons learned from the implementation of anticipatory action in Uganda, highlighting the experiences gained from the El Niño response in 2023, and leveraging innovative approaches to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to emerging threats and vulnerabilities effectively. The partners will also generate recommendations for how to advance the scale up of anticipatory action in Uganda, including through technology, efficient disaster risk finance mechanisms, and localization.

As well as in-person participation, parts of the event will be shared live on NTV Uganda on 22 May 2024, from 11:00 to 13:00 EAT.
