Description

With the first-ever Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW2022), held on March 28-31 2022, join us at Day 2 for a virtual session on “Anticipatory Action as a way to address climate risks and impacts in the Arab region.”

The session hosted by WFP, in collaboration with IFRC and ODI, and moderated by REAP will be held virtually on 29 March at 13.00-14.30 UAE time (11.00-12.30 Cairo time).

This session will bring together speakers from WFP, IFRC and ODI in a panel discussion, moderated by REAP to discuss key entry points for anticipatory action in the region for decision-makers, including governments and humanitarian organizations, to identify opportunities for anticipating climate risks, planning and delivery of anticipatory action for the region.

This year, MENA Climate Week, hosted by UAE, provides an opportunity to accelerate collaboration and integrate climate action in the region, ahead of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).  As part of the UNFCCC Regional Climate Weeks, the event will explore key issues that will shape the region’s resilience against climate risks.
