Description

As global displacement continues to surge - with a projected 6.7 million more people displaced in the next two years - there is a pressing need for proactive, anticipatory approaches. Displacement driven by conflict and climate shocks is becoming increasingly complex, exposing vulnerable populations to layered, compounding risks. Anticipating the humanitarian impacts of displacement and sudden migration surges creates critical windows to act early - reducing suffering, protecting livelihoods, and improving outcomes for those displaced or at risk. Tailored anticipatory action frameworks can also help prevent secondary displacement and setbacks to self-reliance for already displaced communities, enabling effective solutions to end displacement.

To accelerate innovation, coordination, and impact in this space, the Anticipation Hub, IOM, and DRC are launching the Global Working Group on Anticipatory Action for Displacement. Join us for the inaugural meeting as we launch this vital platform for collective action.
