SUMMARY:In recent years\, there has been a growing uptake of anticipatory a
 ction in Asia-Pacific\, including by governments. Taking steps towards ins
 titutionalizing anticipatory action\, linked to laws and policies that ena
 ble its implementation and the formulation of national frameworks for anti
 cipatory action\, can help substantially in achieving this goal. \n\nWith
  several governments in South Asia having started this process\, the 1st S
 outh Asia Dialogue Platform is being held under the theme 'Starting a new 
 chapter: the first national anticipatory action frameworks'. Taking place 
 in Colombo\, Sri Lanka\, it will examine the challenges and opportunities 
 of a national anticipatory action framework.
