Curious about how to craft an early action protocol (EAP) for drought from scratch? This community conversation will explore the challenges faced during the process of writing the the Somali Red Crescent Society's EAP for Drought. We will explore the hurdles that had to be overcome, the information required to address all the relevant questions, and the technical solutions implemented to facilitate the monitoring of forecasts and triggering actions. It will also cover the need to advocate for the concept of anticipatory action within the Somali Red Crescent Society, how the forecasts used were selected, risk assessments, trigger processes, selecting the actions... basically, it's the story of how a diverse team from four organizations tackled these questions together to create the EAP for Drought in Somalia over two years.
