Anticipatory cash webinar series #1: regional focus on Asia-Pacific
Date & Time
Wednesday, May 14, 2025 1:00 PM GMT+2 - 2:00 PM GMT+2Description
Anticipatory action is a hot topic across the humanitarian sector, and the use of cash assistance as a key modality means that it’s an area of increasing relevance to cash practitioners. As the understanding among, and collaboration between, anticipatory action and cash experts (and their respective coordination structures) remains variable, the newly launched Anticipatory Cash Working Group under the Anticipation Hub, co-led by the CALP Network, Cashcap and the Anticipation Hub, is launching a webinar series. The objective is to strengthen buy-in among stakeholders that the use of cash transfers in anticipatory action, and in various contexts is possible and imperative to: (1) meet basic needs and alleviate suffering of the population prior to a crisis; and (2) mobilize collaboration and coherence between cash and anticipatory action actors to improve the delivery of anticipatory cash.
Any individuals who are interested in setting up or supporting the set-up of anticipatory cash transfers is more than welcome to join and explore with us:
- a newsround of anticipatory cash – events and new resources
- Asia-Pacific regional perspective on coordination, anticipatory action plans and frameworks, regional initiatives, and an activation overview by the regional Cash Working Group and the Asia-Pacific Anticipatory Action Technical Working Group
- a spotlight on the Philippines activation in the region – learning from this recent experience
- a dive into the newly published pre-financing guide by the IFRC
- after-party discussion, Q&A and a clinic.
